Picture Book

The Story of Ferdinand is a charming story about a bull who wants nothing more than to sit under his cork tree and enjoy life. Unfortunately, Ferdinand ends up in a ring, facing a matador. This book could be used to teach some geography to older elementary students as the story is set in Spain, or it could be used to teach irony and conflict to middle schoolers. Leaf, Munro. (1936). The Story of Ferdinand. Viking Juvenile Press.
