Contemporary Realistic Fiction


Newbery Award Winning Book Missing May is the story of a six-year-old orphan who is shuffled between relatives until she finally ends up with Aunt May and Uncle Ob. During the next six years, Summer and her aunt and uncle become very close until the day Aunt May dies. This book is idea for middle school students and can be studied to teach life lessons (such as coping with loss) and overcoming hardships.
