Historical Fiction

My Brother Same Is Dead is the story of the Meeker family just before and during the Revolutionary War when one son becomes a supporter of one side, and most of his family supports the other. Younger brother Tim is caught in the middle. This book is geared toward young adults interested in the Revolutionary War and could be used in a middle school social studies class to teach about early America and its biggest heroes. Collier, James. (2005). My Brother Same Is Dead. Scholastic Paperbacks.

The Colliers did a great job writing and researching this book. They even find out what the weather was like on a particular day and base conversations on actual diaries. This is a book students will enjoy. Great blog!

Wow! I knew this book was good, but I didn't realize how accurate it was (even though it's historical fiction). That's so impressive! I'm also impressed that you knew that, Glovis! Thanks!
